hi recieved steadicam merlin today i used to own a flyer so i sort of knew how to balance etc ,i found that i got it to balance fine with the 5400 battery i removed the lens cover and all worked well, now i just have to join a gym

do you use the 5400 battery ?and do you have the lens hood attached, i have read that some people have attached washers on the bottom to counterbalance what method do you use?

Using washers is not recomended as it pusehs teh overall weight of the limit over what's safe for teh gimble.

If possible, find a way to reduce the weight of the camera a little. (use the smaller battery, etc..)
