Just got an email notice: the $300 instant rebate promotion on the AC160A and AC130A that is offered by the USA office of Panasonic, is being discontinued at the end of this month.

It says:
Instant rebates on Panasonic AG-HPX250 P2 HD, AG-AC160A AVCCAM, AG-AC130A AVCCAM HD handheld camcorders definitely expire on September 30, 2013.

When that $300 rebate started, BH and Adorama raised their prices $300. Watch and see if the steet price "magically" lowers $300 worth after the rebates expire :)

Yep, pretty much. Yesterday, while the $300 rebate from Panasonic was still in affect, the purchase price of an AC130A from B&H Photo Video was $3380. Today, after the Panasonic instant rebate has expired, the listed price is $3680 but after you add it to your shopping cart the price "magically" reduces to $3395. So apparently the Panasonic rebate was worth $15.

BH has essentially been pocketing that rebate. Right now Adorama is the better place to buy the AC line- prices are a bit better than BH and you get a free copy of Vegas Pro.

Actually, when you add the camcorder to the shopping cart, the price at B&H is identical.

But you are correct that Adorama is throwing in a copy of Sony Vegas Pro 12 Edit with the camcorders for free. I'm sure that will appeal to some people.1

Do you guys have a consumer watchdog sort of thing for this? Is it legal?
