Rebate Promotion Extended...and EXPANDED!?

I just placed my order yesterday with Rush from EVS, and this makes it even better! This what being responsive to your new and existing customers is all about.

Thank you Jan & Panasonic.

I just looked at the B&H website. They no longer mention the rebate, but they have dropped their price (AFAIK) !! Now their regular price is $2 more than the DVXUser price at EVS. WTF? Were the dealers just tacking on some extra markup during the rebate period?

Date of purchase even if the authorized dealer does not know anything about it? where do I get the rebate coupon if my dealer doesnt have them to give me with my purchase?
thanks

dude you don't need no coupon, just go online and fill out the form,(most important part the numbers underneath the viewfinder ) they'll mail u a check 2 to 4 days after submitting the info online.

if the dealer doesn't know jack about it (doesn't surprise me) don't worry, just worry about getting a US unit.

yeah everybody jacked the prices up because "oh you're gonna get $300 back from Panasonic..."

Since item has not been delivered, call vendor telling them you will refuse deleivery and want an immediate credit. Don't argue with them just tell them. Then call your credit card company and institute a chargeback for fraud. Tell them you have not yet received camera, have already talked to seller, and will refuse delivery. Then send email to vendor telling them the same thing. Then call UPS and also send them an email telling them the same thing (with a tracking number if you have one). Ask them to NOT leave it without a signature no matter what. If company gives you any crap at all, call NY AG office immediately and get them involved. A bit of a nuisance but you can stil unravel this. Good Luck.

Galt, this is excellent advice, but I also want to remind Palerider that they may tack on an exorbitant restocking fee as well as the shipping charge, which is probably plastered all over their website to keep people from changing their minds. Check ahead.

Moderate restocking fees are designed to help legit dealers stay alive and be able to resell an "opened" piece of equipment as used to a new customer, and also not lose the 3% that the credit card company takes away to process the order.

Unopened merchandise that is refused before Fedex drops off should not be charged more than a 4% restock fee, just to cover the credit card loss, since it resellable as new.

Oh, the chicanery that goes on sometimes

Thank you murraja, galt, lucas, and rgd, I appreciate all your business!

It is only effective starting from the 1st of May.

Best,

What rebate is under discussion. My wife tells me of a $300.00, purchased before April 30th. Is this another promotional deal?

Thanks

Guys, check this out -- when they say "10 tapes", they're not talking about the regular $5.65 MQ tapes. They're including the "Advanced MQ" tapes, which carry a suggested retail price of $24. Each.

I was wondering how they got to the $1,000 total ... but why *are* they so expensive?

Son Of A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Son Of A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, you can count old Dr. Stupid among the suckers of this world...

I, too, rushed to get an order in before the rebate deadline. Before seeing this thread, I ordered on the 29th from Abes of Maine. The sales rep assured me many times over that they were an authorized dealer of Panasonic equipment, and that I would receive my book and software and "whatever is involved with the rebate" from Panasonic. He also assured me that I had 21 days to return the merchandise, "no questions asked," and absolutely "no restocking fee."

First, I never got an e-mail confirmation of my order. I called and requested one. They said they sent it again. It never came. I called again and gave them an additional e-mail address. No confirmation. I called again -- no confirmation. The rep assured me the he was e-mailing and there must be a technical problem on my end or his. He also again promised me the "no questions asked" return if I was unsatisfied in any way. "Just give me a call."

Then I saw this thread. I called to cancel my order but was told it had already shipped. I was still debating keeping the thing, becuase my budget is SO tight, and their price was several hundred cheaper than other stuff out there. But ultimately I decided screw it -- I'm not supporting the bad guys, I'm going with Rush and I'll just have to buy my microphone some other day when I get more cash.

I called today for an RMA number, and guess what? *Questions were asked.* I was told there was a 15% restocking fee. "I don't know what our salesman told you, but it's written on our website." At this point I got very angry.

I fought with a lady for a half hour and got an agreement for a refund of everything....minus the inflated $150 shipping charge. In fact, I don't even have that guaranteed yet -- I'm being bumped up to a higher level manager who happens to be "unavailable" right now. Before going to the mattresses, I called Panasonic again just to double confirm that they are not authorized. They are not. "Right, sir -- I told you we aren't authorized...personally....individually....but the *buyers* that we buy from are all authorized...so it's exactly the same thing." Then send me my book and my magic bullet software. "That's not something we do." Then it's not the same thing. "You need to talk to my supervisor."

I'm not wasting my time arguing anymore. Fortunately. my credit card company is awesome and they are going to back me up free of charge and get it reversed. It's just going to take a month or two.

Anyway, if anyone can learn from me -- DO NOT BUY THE DVX FROM ANY UNAUTHORIZED DEALER, and DO NOT BUY *ANYTHING* FROM ABE'S OF MAINE EVER !!!!

Rush, I'll be in touch after I finish licking my wounds....

--Dr. Stupid (an apropos handle, don't you think?)

I almost ordered from Abes of Maine just because 3 months ago I ordered a GL2 from them. The GL2 came to me in a ripped box. THe only thing holding me back was their $150 shipping fee. When I asked if I could have a relative come into New York and pick the camera up they said I would stil be charge that overinflated fee. SCAMMM! !!!! ding ding ding..! I hope everything works out for you Dr Stupid. I'm sure it will. Call RUSH ! He's awesome..

Just spoke to the higher level supervisor. He was very polite, apologized for his salesman's misleading information, and offered to send me the book and Magic Bullet software, as well as an additional $100 off the camera if I would keep it.

I insisted upon the return.

Will likely get refunded for the purchase and then will have to dispute the $150 shipping charge. Could have been a lot worse, I suppose. Just hope others will be more careful than I was.
