Really Amazing Documentary: HOME

Do you have to have a paid account with YouTube to put that long of videos on there?

It says on Wikipedia that it will be available on YouTube until June, 14th. I guess it means its being removed afterwards.

Just watched this yesterday, a very good film that every one of us should watch. It is being provided for Free, so you can watch the entire thing on youtube.

Maybe it's just me but it is an amazingly beautiful...

prop·a·gan·da:

1. The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause.

2. information or ideas deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.

3. the particular doctrines or principles propagated by an organization or movement.

Please let's not get into this discussion. If you don't like the message, just turn off the audio, play some music you like and watch the amazing images. Then you can have your own thoughts about this topic.

Don't have anything against what these filmmakers and organizations are doing but in my humble opinion, it's still a very expensive but incredibly beautiful propaganda film to change people's persception of how we can save or destroy this "HOME" we called earth.

Wikipedia

Propaganda is the dissemination of information aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of people. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense, often presents information primarily in order to influence its audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda.

really borrrrinnggg movie. Some great shots.. but listening to this annoying lady drone on for an hour in the same tone is torture.

Watched about 15 min of it so far . Amazing shots. I'd say it lacks in the "best documentary" category though for I suppose 'direction'. Pacing is poor and boring as mentioned. Propaganda notwithstanding.

However, from an appreciation of photography standpoint, they have an onslaught of amazing shots and so I appreciate the post. Thanks.

ps. I know we are not to discuss anything else, but guys, think about it, anything you make has a message you want to get across, that's why you made it, so everything is not propaganda if you don't agree with it. otherwise everything all of us make is propaganda.
