Real?

Almost certainly not.

But then, it's no less plausible than the "we were there!" ad where they make the slip and slides on the hill to beat the relentless heat, but they have to take off their sweat shirts and jackets to slide. :)

There was a thread about this a few weeks ago. It's part of a Microsoft ad campaign from Europe. The guy was wearing a harness connected to a rope that kept him from slipping all the way. The figure flying through the air is CG.

Of course it's real. Viral marketing is a reality you'll have to embrace and match moving to low-quality shakycam is today's flavor of doing that. You see it more often than ya know, from cell phones popping corn to, well thining a dude really flew into a baby pool from 150 feet away.

It's a viral (fake)marketing ad.

But still very cool from a VFX standpoint.

How do you know it's fake?
Clue? The website URL at the end of the video.
2nd Clue. Go to that URL and you see a picture of the guy giving thumb's up for Microsoft Office.
Nail in coffin: copy from the linked page
"The man not afraid of great ideas – does he really exist?
Even if Bruno Kammerl remains a fiction,
the time is ripe for new heroes.

Do it like Bruno - make your plans real:
With Microsoft Office Project 2007."

here is the Website for that video this shows how it was made,

Check out the picture on the top right, you can see the platform that was later painted out.

It amazes me how far they go out of their way to make it obvious some dude didn't risk his life making a web marketing video and some are still amazed by the "stunt".
That's what make these successful. Break it down and it's how illusionists make fine livings in vegas calling themselves magicians.
