Anyone who works with HD on a regular basis eventually realizes that Panasonic currently has the best emulation of film when it comes to colorspace. Even though it has less resolution, the Varicam looks more "film-like" coming straight outta the camera then the Cine-Alta. (Of course, with a little post color-correction it all looks good). So Panasonic then took that really good colorspace and added it to the 100A, 200, and 900. That was a good idea.
RED can take it further. I want to see the RED system mimick the real-world look of film (in the color area especially), and maybe even go so far as to have user defineable filmstock emulation. I want to be able to make it look like Kodak 200 ASA stock. Or Fuji. Or even Tri-X Black and White.
