Re: T2i // First Wedding Vid

For which part?

MKE400 for on-camera
Sennheiser EW112P G3 for vows fed into T2i (!) because my camera operator forgot to hit record on the Zoom(!)

Keep in mind we used T2i's with Magic Lantern meaning we had AGC disabled.

Nice job. I've been thinking about getting into this kind of thing, myself. Always been too scared to deal with brides during and after the whole process. I've heard some horror stories, let me tell you.

FYI I would have had some nasty words for the camera operator.

I think the key to weddings is not to try to be the Walmart of Weddings. But to be the Boutique of Weddings. Meaning you only take on Bride/Grooms that you know personally or are referred by friends. And especially those that have the same creative taste as you.

These types of Bride/Grooms allow your art to shine through and will help to steadily build the portfolio that reflects YOUR ART. And eventually you will only attract those that want your art.

Visuals and concept are great, maybe to much shallow dof for my taste + some over exposure but overall pretty good .Audio though sounds to hot , From the music to the voice. When we hear the bride her audio is in stereo but when it goes to the groom it is only mono coming out of the left channel. Really threw me off. Also those claps at the end were also clipping audio wise.

Overall I think the best point of this project was the direction and how you captured it, I really like the pacing and the content. The audio though could easily be fixed by just adjusting some levels and making the mono track from the lav mic stereo. The parts in the video that did overexpose like the skies and the tail of her wedding dress would be a little harder to fix but overall I think the content is so good it doesn't really matter. Now while I like the shallow dof as it allows such great detail for what is in focus, you can see many points where the camera operators are passing their mark and coming back, really distracting. Great job, minus my opinions which I feel would bring your work to the next level.

not bad! thx for sharing! how many cameras did you have for this shoot?

For the ceremony we had 4 in total, 3 on tripods (1 x aisle, and 2 at 45 degree angles to the bride/groom on the sides, 1 x dedicated Glidecam)

For Bride Prep, we used two on monopods and for the Groom prep there was only one.
