When working in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5, what is the best way to render out 4K / 5K footage to upload to YouTube?

Render out to a 1080P H2.64 file is how I would do it. Youtube doesn't support any higher resolutions, to my knowledge.

I've definitely seen 2K video on YouTube. It's referred to as "Original" now.

Yeah 4k footage is supported on YouTube, if you do a search you can turn up a handful of videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdQ0i3v_KVY


As for how those videos were encoded, I don't know...I guess you could try exporting H264 at 4k? Just make sure to use the highest profile level.

Youtube supports up to 4K resolution. There is a lot of 4k timelapse on youtube nowaday.

For Premiere CS you can export using H.264 codec.
