Re: Micro 4/3 Electronic Lenses - Repeatable manual focus ring?

Do the Micro 4/3 Electronic lenses from Panasonic and Olympus have repeatable focus when using the focus ring manually?

I just re tested these three 7-14 12-35 35-100 panasonic lumix lenses and none of them do repeatable focus with a follow focus unit, they end up on a different mark every time.

I've had all three of those lenses, and they don't.

They're swell quick-working lenses for photography, subject tracking, or push-auto type applications, and I use the end caps off 'EM in those types of work, but they're never reliable in manual focus repetition.

The Oly lenses supposedly have a manual clutch mode that engages when you pull the focus ring towards you. I haven't played w/ the 12-40 I just got enough to know how well it works yet, though I think it's too sensitive (the SLR Magic lenses work a lot better)...

Some Olympus lenses have a clutched focus ring that allows you to get repeatable focus. Currently, the 12-40mm f/2.8, 12mm f/2, and 17mm f/1.8 have a clutched focus ring.
