Re: Lens between 70mm and 150mm lens with minimal lens breathing?

I am looking for a lens between 70mm and 150mm with minimal lens breathing and is native to the Canon EF / EF-S system.

It needs AF built-in as I would be using the Dual Pixel AF.

I have seen video samples of the EF 85 F1.8 and EF 100 F2.8L Macro and both appear to have considerable lens breathing which wouldn't work well with Dual Pixel AF for face tracking purposes as the breathing magnification is too jarring to look at.

So what can you suggest?

1) ignore it and shoot however you like. It just looks as if the camera had moved back or forth a little in order to see something clearly. If the viewer's attention is "locked" on something, who would mind that?

In other words, wait until you have tried and carefully reviewed real-world footage before claiming lens breathing doesn't work well with video AF.

2) try an L lens such as 100mm macro f/2.8L or 135mm f/2L or an L zoom lens. The 100-400 L lens does not seem breathing at 100mm.
