Re-creating a look

So i have a shoot coming up next weekend i need to recreate this clip as faithfully as possible

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn26pEDEhyY
I already have a location with enough of the set, on a hill with nothing in the background so all im worried about is lighting the talent and exposing for the sky
I was wondering how i should handle the sky because i can promise i will not have that sky. I will have a completely clear sky.
My ideas where to shoot in the afternoon, let the actor be completely silhouetted and then with the sky almost white put in that sky in post. The other option is to shoot at sunset and get the color but no clouds?

I had planned on using a very tungsten light to create a little fill in the actors face.

The other option is to expose for the face blow out the sky add in the sky in post and then create that silhouette and contrast in post?

What would you guys do?

I'd say definetly do a test for sky replacement. However since the wide shots are basically in complete silhouette I'd shoot those on location, and then replace the sky/tint whatever works. Then I'd shoot the close up in the studio on greenscreen. Couldn't hurt to shoot it on location as well, but I think you would be able to get a better result in studio.

i was debating that, shooting the close ups on my green screen and then shooting background plates on location. If i can get the right sky color with some clouds it would be killer.

For sure, shoot at magic hours for the wides, with a bit of tweaking you can make that sky nice. Plus since its in silhouette you can always comp that out easily and add in a sky as well.

It's one of those shots i think actually could look better in studio than the real thing. Especially if you're on a camera with limited dynamic range.

I think the plan is to do the outdoor shooting first. Since im there get that one line on location and see if it works. If it doesn't it wont have been a hard set up so it will take nothing more than about an extra half hour. Then if it doesnt work i have a green screen at my disposal to do the rest of it. I dont think however that i will have the time to build the fences and such for shooting on the green screen but i can create those in post fairly easily i think.

I don't know what todo about that dolly move. The area where I will be shooting the location stuff would not handle my dolly at all since it's a DIY cheapie. But if I'm chomping in my sky. Fence and tree and I might as well just do that move in pots as well
