Raylight Issue

Hello,

I've been experimenting with Raylight (demo) on a system with Premier Pro 1.5. The material is 720/24pn. The editing mode is set to "Video for Windows" with frame rate etc, set per DVFilm recommendations. The resultant video played from the timeline looks jittery no matter what conversion configuration and proxy settings.

The video looks great if the editing mode is set as "DV Playback", 29.97, lower field first. However, this mode only allows a frame size of 720x480. Therefore (surprise!), much of the image is not visible.

I was curious, and found the video looks great (with full frame visible) in Movie Maker, too!

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue within PP 1.5 would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'd guess the issue is more PP 1.5, which has known issues re: 24p. PP 2.0 and beyond don't have those issues.

Okay…I have found somewhat of a work-around method now. With the editing mode set to DV Playback (as previously noted), I used the motion filter to adjust frame size. Still looks great. I then tried to export an mpeg of my test (using Adobe Media Encoder) and found only an un-recognized icon in my output folder. The description said mpeg with file size shown, but was un-associated with anything.

I went back to my PP / Raylight test project and re-exported as an avi, then burned a dvd in Encore. Looks great.

Any ideas as to why my mpeg export out of Premier didn't work? I think it may have something to do with the association (or disassociation) to the original mxf files.

Thanks.
