Ok so I am wondering, I see that it takes prospect hd to get 10 bit avi's at 19xx by 1080 res, and conect and aspect won't do it but rather 8 bit. So my question is does raylight convert thes mxf files to full res 10 bit avi's.

and also I am gonna be shooting some 2fps hack on the hvx, will raylight convert this to 2fp avi for premiere. And what about all the other framerates are they all supported by raylight.

thanks guys, I am having a tough time deciding which way to go

The source footage is 8-bit, Raylight keeps it at 8-bit.

Yes Raylight will convert the 2fps footage and all frame rate footage.

I've just shot a short film with my HVX and was planning on doing an edit using the Raylight trial in Premiere and then using an EDL to take it over to FCP to render it out properly. I'm doing this because the FCP system I have available is in town and I want to be able to work on my edit whenever I can... and I only have Premiere available at home.

However, when I converted all the MXF's to AVI's all the timecodes were lost... all the clips now start at 00:00:00. When I take the MXF's over to FCP, will they retain their timecodes? If so, would that make the EDL useless in FCP? Or could I import the Raylight AVI's into FCP with the altered timecodes?

Thanks.
