GH4 Raw video

[David Del Real]

With all the hype surrounding Vlog-L for the GH4, I was wondering if there would ever be Raw video recording on the GH4? You know, Magic Lantern style...

My guess is no. Nobody has been able to hack any Panasonic camera after the GH2.

That's a bummer. If I had the time I would take a stab at it.

[DLD]

It has a 10-bit out via HDMI or via YAGH, making Raw less pertinent.

Even if a DSLR is hacked to dump raw, most people who shoot this class of camera don't want to deal with raw work flow and the impact of file storage and data transfer rates on editing workstations.
DSLR's don't have the hardware to dump raw images faster than their still raw specifications indicate without overheating and can't store much footage on a chip.
Black magic makes several true raw motion cameras near the GH4's price range for those that are seriously interested in the format.
