Howdy ya'll, I have been reading out there that some like this adapter. Noticed mind wiggles a tiny bit...anyone else have that happen? Any other suggestions? The Voightlander cost is just ridiculous in my mind, not going to fork out that cash for a simple adapter. Saving that money for a new flash There has to be a better cheaper solution.

*please don't tell me to search, I already did, and couldn't find what I was looking for, thanks

I just noticed....my adapter does not look like the one shown in the image on the amazon nor rainbowimaging homepage. The package looked like something you might find at a fleamarket...kind of a bummer...I have read rainbowimaging adapters are good...but maybe these guys are selling me crap and not what I paid for.

Have you looked at the jinfinance one? I don't know if it's any better but it's more expensive on ebay. About $45-$50

I has been using mine for a year now, and the Rainbow Imaging Canon FD too, no problem whatsoever.

I concur, I was a bit skeptical on going with this brand, never heard of them before. But im glad I did, the fd mount is tight as a drum, and it has a second iris function. Some may not like it but I do. Maybe the nikon is different though, if your having issues, why not try another brand, their cheap enough.

I just bought a Nikon adapter from Rainbow Imaging. Apparently they sell 2 versions of the adapter -- both have adjustable aperture, but one is cheaper than the other (about $6 difference). I emailed them and asked what the differences were. The reply I got was that they look a little bit different and they came from different factories. I went with the one that was slightly more expensive... hopefully the higher price is an indication of better quality.

I use the rainbowimaging for Nikon G series (adapter with aperture ring) and had no problems so far with the video mode, all fine.

Except I did notice that my adapter is leaking light after doing long exposures (40-60sec) for images, did it on daylight blocking max incomming light with filter. I will try to fix this with a duct tape and will do some more tests and decide what I will do with it.

Check it out if your adapter is fine.

DON"T ORDER FROM COWBOY STUDIO! See my image in the gallery of the amazon page.

Hello guys,

i just got an adapter from rainbowimaging for my Nikon AF lens. I bought the one with the aperture ring. I have their Canon FD adapter and I love it - sturdy build, no light leaking.
I was also very happy with the Nikon adapter until i noticed significant light leaking from the small ear-like lever used to release the lens. You can do the lens-cap test or simply look through the lens with the adapter on and shine a light.
It looks like the lever is about 1mm smaller than the whole it's in, so there is wiggle room on the left and right side, which is where the light is coming in from. Unfortunately, I don't see any way around it except to remember to put your finger over the lever every time you take a shot. You could put duct tape over it but you'll have to do that every time you change lens, which is a pain.
I contacted them: let's see what they say.
