Rage in the Cage?

Hey. I'm not quite clear on what the red "Cages" are for. Are they supposed to be Fig-Rig-like stabilizers? Shoulder mounts? Protective housings? Tripod connectors? Or is each one different?
In a nutshell, how many types of cages will there be, and how will they be targeted (I.E. by handle type, by weight, by size)?

pretty much all of the above

There will be a few different ones, Im not sure how many they plan coming out with at release.

Think of it as the ultamite rod system you can mount anyting to it or use it to mount the camera to different things
