We recieved our af101 earlier this month and the day after we began shooting this music video.

The video is our submission to genero.tv's Röyksopp music video contest.

I was the photographer and we used the the 101 with the MTF nikon G adapter, with the following glass:

Nikon 35mm 2.0
Nikon 105mm 2.5
Nikon 18-70mm 3.5-4.5
Nikon 80-200mm 2.8

I also used a Glidecam 4000, a random tripod and a DVtec handheld rig.

I hope you like it and I'll gladly answer any questions you might have.

(and I know it's againt forum policy, but if you like the video, a vote would make us really happy)

Thank you! -- This was much more than a Music Video. Congratulations you actually told a complete story and you had no dialogue, which can be a real challenge. Keep it up, I'd like to see more.

I really enjoyed it! First proper AF100 film I have seen, and I'm glad to say I totally forgot about all technical aspects of what camera it was shot on about 15 seconds in, watched to the end, and only then remembered "oh yeh, that was shot on the AF100".

Very good storytelling, cool idea, and very cute costuming/makeup on the characters. Awesome!

Cheers, Hywel.

dude wtf... That was beautiful! Very cinematic, great story telling. Composition and editing were very nice. Thank you for sharing.

Loved it! enjoyed it all the way to the end. Congrats on getting one of the few AF100's. The Bicycle Thief is still one of my favorite films of all time.

This is great work and like bgundu I was reminded of Bicycle Thief. Clever idea and I loved the execution. Worked beautifully with the music.

Very very nice work. Excellent execution, direction, and story telling. Like others commented, I forgot I was watching AF100 footage.

Inspiring, thank you!

Thank you all so much! So nice to hear that the story holds up.

The real inspiring thing with the af101 is indeed as stated, you no longer think about what the material is shot with. So now, I guess, one can concentrate on the real hard work creating a story and a universe that catches peoples attention.

Wow, that was great! Given I am a Röyksopp fan and a new owner of an AF100 myself, I enjoyed this on many levels. Great job and I hope you win, you deserve it!

Just watched again and voted. Good luck.

What kind of precautions/methods did you do for using your camera out in the cold? I know some people put there cameras in a zip lock bag before bringing it back inside or something along those lines. Did you do anything similar?

Thanks for the vote!

Since I live in a cold country I've used the DVX100, HVX200 and HPX170 in cold weather. So I had no doubts about the af100 working outside in the cold.

But when we shot in the woods it started to snow. And the temperatures were around 0°C, so when we were shooting the snow melted a bit when it hit the camera. The camera got wet. And then when we left the woods it got colder and the wind came, so the water froze on the camera. Actually some parts of the camera were covered in thin ice(!).

So before going inside I carefully cleaned the camera outside, got rid of the ice and water. I then put it in the camera bag and closed it, sat it just inside of the door in the hallway so it wouldn't cause condensation. I tried to bring a cheap lens inside, from -1°C to 25°C, just to see what would happen and it fogged up instantly (surprise). I guess it would be extra scary with the af100, since the m43 chip's just covered by a plastic cover that's not entirely sealed or anything...

So next time I'll use a rain/snow cover outside and that ziplock idea sounds like it could work. The af100 still works though, and I'm shooting outside again tonight.

Love that! Penguins, guns and fish! Well done, I was hoping for a round house kick to that beast in the wood, but a punch in the face works lol
