Quieting down... Something special

Minneapolis here too! I work at a local church doing production work. I'd love to contact you guys sometime. ALWAYS interested to meet fellow shooters, and I've been dying to plug into local experts. If you don't have anywhere to go to church around christmas, feel free to stop by! I'll give you a tour of the video office and stuff.

Just came across something in this Abel Cine video: http://blog.abelcine.com/2010/11/24/sony-f3/ - at about 1:30 the Abel tech referenced the F3's eventual 4:4:4 output firmware update with a key word: "purchase." I was hoping, but not necessarily expecting, it would be a free firmware update. Looks like that may not be the case. So add an unknown cost there, plus who knows how much the upcoming Sony S-Log recorder will cost. Plus I can't find anyone working on a mount that will allow use of my Canon EF lenses on the F3 - anyone know of one? The AF100 and Birger mount is looking more and more like the way to go.

From the get go, they've been saying "in fine print" that 4:4:4 would be an upgrade that you pay for, keeping the pay for part out of the limelight.

Yes, the F3 is NOT built with "any lens" in mind. It's definitely built to do PL, cinema lenses, and Sony's custom lenses. Micro 4/3s is a standard type of mount, for stills. By adopting this standard, Panasonic has opened the door for virtually any lens to be adapted.
