Quicktime Player not playing files on Windows Vista

I have some files that were recorded as Quicktime PN files on my Firestore, and I would like to log/view them on my Windows Vista computer with Quicktime Player. When I try to open them with Quicktime Player I get a message that reads "Error 50 - An unknown error occured" Do I need some other Quicktime component to be able to play the files with Quicktime Player?

You need a DVCProHD codec for QT windows.

Apple doesn't supply a Windows version. Do a google search.

But I don't believe anything is free.
