the files i unwrapped from the hvx200 worked fine on my friend's computer who unwrapped them but when i try to open them on other coputers i can hear the audio but the screen is all white. i have the newest version of quicktime 7.2 and it told me i had to download something but sent me to a page with about ten different things to download, i downloaded the divx plugin and it was able to open the file afterwards but the screen is all white while i can hear the audio, there is no video? anyone know how to solve this?

What video codec did he convert the footage to? You may not have that. Audio only usually means that it is missing the necessary video codec.

Um -- are you on a PC? Because Apple doesn't support DVCProHD in the PC version of QuickTime.

If that's the case, DVFilm has a product called Raylight Decoder that will let you work with the files.

Without the DVCProHD codecs installed by FCP on a Mac, you cannot play DVCProHD footage.

It's that simple and only Final Cut Pro installs them on a Mac.

This is video 101 for DVCProHD,
