"Quicktime Error -2048" from a file shot on 7D

I was looking through my footage from the weekend... it looked great except two particular files, the first two .mov files from my second card from the shoot. When I click on either file, I get an error message...

"error -2048: could't open the file MVI_0462.mov because it's not a file that quicktime understands."

This is weird because all of the other files from that card and the previous card play fine. Also, these 2 files won't import into premiere, and Neoscene won't transcode them to an .avi format. So, I think somehow/someway they are corrupt or something.

An internet search didn't turn up anything relevant to the 7d or why some files on the same card would play and other wouldn't. My issue is that these two files are the first two toasts of the evening, and I really don't want to lose them. If anyone has encountered this before, or has any ideas, I would appreciate it!

Thanks

Darn... I was hoping someone would have a solution. I got the same error with my Go Pro and a .mp4 file. Unfortunately it only recorded one long 45 minute file, so all of my footage is lost.

That's why when people complain about not being able to shoot more than a 12min take I laugh. Who really needs and should do a take so long. Break up that file.

Sorry to hear about what happened. What was the brand of the card and speed out of curiosity?
