Quick release plates?

I am looking for quick releases for my tripod, glidecam and slider that I am going to make and want to know what people are using?

as an amateur that can't invest a lot of cash on camera equipment, I also saw the value of having a common release plate in all my gear (two tripods, shoulder support, slider), but couldn't afford four of those very nice manfrottos that Exact linked, so I bought these:

it's not nearly as good as... well, anything... but it's cheap, and it works (after you use some big pliers to make both pieces fit without wiggle)

just my two cents (as you see, I don't have much more to spare)

What is the difference between the

Manfrotto 323 RC2 Rapid Connect Adapter

and the Manfrotto 577 Rapid Connect Adapter

Obviously price but will the 323 get the job done? I need to mount to my HD4000 a Manfrotto 701HDV for my Slider and I plan to purchase a Manfrotto Monopod 561BHDV when they become available. I also have a regular tripod. Are both of these rapid connectors compatible with all of these different piece of equipment?

The 322 is just the smaller tripod plate that is usually used with still cameras the 577 is usually used with video heads

Match the quick release with whatever current heads that you use.
