Quick question on T2i lenses..

Hey guys, I was just curious if anyone could help me out with a couple decent lenses that won't break the bank for some nice footage on the Canon T2i? If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

1) Decent Zoom that's not too expensive Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (non VC is around $425. Cheaper and better image than the VC version). The Canon version is better for sure, but almost 3x more expensive. Zooms are the best all around lens to have if you shoot gorilla style a lot; then it's a must have.

2) Canon 50mm f1.8 = $100. Good lens, but I've since upgraded to the f1.4 which is even better but costs $350. Great for portraits

3) Sigma 30mm f1.4 = I think it's around $400. Good lens. I like it. I use it mostly for low light shots, or when I want lots of shallow DOF.

4) I have a old Manual Nikon Zoom 70-200m f4 that was like $180 used. Good lens, but you have to use an adapter. I use this for filming surfing (not quite long enough) and wildlife.

5) Tokina 11-16 = $600. I love this lens. It's hard to find though, but I use it a lot for landscapes and the super wide makes for really interesting shots when done right.

That covers everything and should get you started. If you have the money, I would get the Canon 17-55 f2.8 ($1100) and the Canon f2.8 70-200 L. But they're bank but the best lenses in their class.

I also want the 85mm f1.8 Canon. but that will have to wait.

The key is to read reviews (www.photozone.de has the most in-depth reviews) and buy wisely. Something I've sorta done.

I've had really good results with Canon 50mm 1.4 and the 28mm 1.8 and buying both won't break the bank. Plus they share the same filter size so you don't have to buy a bunch of different size filters.
