The XC10 creates a 1k .xml file for each clip you shoot. Is this files used for anything at all? So far I've just deleted them with no apparent bad consequences. If I don't need them is there a way to turn off the creation of them?
I always delete them. The video files stand on their own and do not need the XML files. When I first saw the XML files I looked at them, and they just contain a few pieces of metadata. I am curious why they don't even include the basic camera settings: aperture, iso, frame rate, white balance, timestamp... This would be useful information.
Does anyone know if there's a way to ask the XC10 to include more data in the XML files?
