Quick Question about P2 with FCP

Unfortunately "P2" is too short of a search query here on dvxuser, so I have to ask a question that has been asked a thousand times probably:

What is the process for working with P2 footage in FCP?

I know that to work with my t2i, I had to download a driver that would allow me to log and transfer the footage into ProRes from h.264. Does it need to be transcoded to an editable format? I was watching a video on creativecow about it, but they were using FC 5.0.4 I believe, and I didn't know if it was different or less steps in 7.
 
Copy the entire p2 card volume intact to your HDD after write protecting the card.

Then use the log and transfer feature in FCP 6.x or later to transcode the mxf files to DVCProHD.

Make certain that if you have shot anything pNative, to set your log and transfer preference to reflect that you do not want to remove pulldown.
