Quick question about 60i

Hello,

We're in the market to upgrade from our Sony TRV900. The DVX100A is starting to look like it might be what we want. The XL2 hasn't sold me yet.

Silly question, but how does ithe picture look in standard 60i? I'm sure I'll love the 24p but in reality I'll probably be shooting more 60i - at least when I'm using it in conjuntion with my TRV900 which we will be doing now and then.

Thanks a lot. I've already found this board highly informative.

Re: Quick question about 60i

The DVX's 60i picture is superb, absolutely at the top of the class. Some might argue that the PD170 provides slightly better low-light response, but the DVX provides much better image control, 7 gamma curves, etc.

It is a *fantastic* 60i camera.

Re: Quick question about 60i

Bruce,
I'm probably one of the few people who DID NOT buy my 100A for it's 24p ability. I bought it for 30p, it's great color rendition
(best of any camera in it's class), available image adjustments and the ergonomics.
Most projects I've done with it are in 60i, and I can tell you that when your camera is set up properly, the images are among the best you'll get from a 1/3" 3 chipper in 4:3.
Hope this helps.

Re: Quick question about 60i

Great! I considered the PD170 but all in all I don't think it's much better than our TRV 900. That little camera is a workhorse and it's been good to us. Thanks a lot for your quick responses.
