Quick Query Re Firewire Connect

We're doing some testing for a long form and tightly scheduled shoot this weekend.

Transferring via firewire connect by mounting cam on Mac desktop.

I have no problem getting to the connect mode.

However I noticed that initially the screen says "firewire connect," then immediately "disconnect" and almost immediately "connect" again.

This may be normal, but I just don't remember this before.

Everything transfers without issue

Is this normal?

Yes. It's resulting from the "handshaking protocol" that goes on initially. All your devices to this, you just never get to see the feedback from it.
