C100: Quick comparison video of the C100 vs the 550D

Just a quick comparison of the two cameras. Both are using the Canon 24-105L.
The difference in detail in the C100 is obvious.
Quick color grade in Sony Vegas with Magic Bullet Looks.
The 550D footage makes me cringe now.

I had the same experience against a 600D. I think it's very workable with shallow DOF, but stopped down it doesn't really resolve detail that well, even at infinity. The other cases where it works well are with some nice low contrast picture styles and stock film grain - a look where sharpness is not as important.

Since the C100 resolves so much detail, compressing for the web actually seems to make the sacrifice that much more apparent...which is both a good and bad thing.

All in all I love the C100's huge jump in IQ but the 550D/600D are very trusty tools that I'll still be using for a long time.

It's incredible how far technology has moved forward. My 550d image was much better than the image from my old JVC HD-100. When I compared my C100 to the 550d the difference was even more pronounced not just in detail resolved but also dynamic range. I now find it hard to use both cameras on the same project.
