Hello, I am on the fence with the RX II and RX 100 IV coming out. I am more interested in using one of these cameras for mostly video. Love all the added features it comes with, and not bothered by fixed lens or audio. I am used to using an external audio device.
I do a lot of educational videos inside, and I use a Panasonic HMC150 and Canon G30. HMC150 is great for low light and for me, easy to set up the white balance, focusing, and other settings.
I also have a D7100 for still work. I like panasonic cameras, but the 130/160 is up there in price range and I am not happy with them for my needs. It seems people are going with DSLR's now to achieve great video results. And for 1300.00 for the RXII, it seems to me this would make a great video camera. I just love the colors coming from these cameras.

Here are some questions I have on these 2 cameras coming out.
Is the video quality better in the RX II compared to the RX100IV

With the RX10 or RX10II, do you see getting about the same results that I did with my hmc150, or better?

Is the autofocusing pretty fast and locked on?

With the RX10 series, is it easy to set up white balance and other manual setting.

For documentary work and interviews, do you feel the quality is at a pro level?

How is low light handing, or if you are in a situation where light is changing a lot?

Any other suggestions you might have or pros or cons of the cameras pertaining video work.

Love the size of the lx100 series, but for spending the money, I think it is better to go to the RX10II for size of lens.
thank you for your time.
I if you have any photos or videos with your RX10, I would love to see them.

I have been using the RX10 for about 18 months. I went from the HVX200 and then the GH2.
The HVX200 was fine for exteriors but was almost unusable in interiors without additional
lighting. We shoot MotorHomes and there is not much room to setup interior lighting.
At best we tried on camera lighting but that always looked like news reports.
The Gh2 was a little better for interiors but not much. The RX10 has much better
light sensitivity. We have been very happy with it's performance.
The auto focus can be a bit slow but it is pretty accurate.
You can manually white balance and the AWB is OK.

Here is a video shot with the RX10. The aerial footage was shot with GH4.
The stills were shot with Nikon D5300.

thank you for sharing and looks like you had a lot of work on your video. Put me down for one of those RV.
The lighting was very nicely down with the the RX10.
Great job and thank you for the comments.

I am looking into picking up a rx100 III, don't need 4k, just good quality xavc-s. I have the rx10 which I love, but looking for something very portable.

Here is the concern has anyone had any overheating on this model while shooting 1080 at 50mbps?
