Questions - Brevis & A1 (Narrative Short)

Hi all, I'm directing a narrative short with the Brevis and A1, and have a few critical questions.

1. Is there a good FOLLOW FOCUS and GEARS we should look at? My DP isn't too psyched about the options he's aware of, so we may just do without and pull focus directly on the 35mm lenses. I would prefer to use a FF if we can. Are there any cheap options for renting (I'm in NYC so if anyone here wants to rent to me, please contact me).

2. Any thoughts on what PRESET we should use? I like most of the Letus stuff Disjecta has shot, but would probably want to dial back some of the red and saturation of the VIVIDRGB preset. What about PANALOOK2? How does that differ from VIVIDRGB? Or should we shoot flat and correct in post (we have a limited post budget)?

3. Does anyone know the minimum focal distance for a Brevis? I know this depends on the 35mm lens. But I have a shot: DP in shotgun seat of a minivan, shooting the driver. So I figure 2 feet between lens and subject. Will this be feasible?

Thanks in advance.

I'll quickly answer #2
The Panalook2 setting was designed with post production in mind rather than trying to get a vivid look in-camera (like VIVIDRGB). The bias towards red is not a problem with Panalook2 because it is pretty neutral. It gives a flatter color response than VIVIDRGB but when you boost the levels and saturation in post, it gives a very natural and colorful picture which I really like.

Thanks Disjecta. So in Panalook2 I notice you use Gamma and Color Matrix "Cine2," Stretch the blacks, and dial back the Sharpness to -2. So did you find these settings particularly advantageous for adapter use?

Are there any settings that should absolutely be AVOIDED for using with an adapter? For instance, it's now generally considered bad to raise Sharpness, above 0, correct? Obviously NR1 and 2 remain off, OIS off...

Any advice on my original questions about FF, Gears, and so on?

Sorry for the bump, but my shoot is getting close and I could use some help.
