Questions about P2 Cards

Hi

I have the HPX171E (PAL).

I have installed the P2 software that came with the camera on my laptop and I can now see the P2 software icon on there. If I double click I get the "P2 Card Manager" with nothing in the window.

I can connect the camera and it appears as a drive no problem.

However, my Laptop has the slot built in that accepts the P2 card, but when I plug in a P2 card the laptop beeps but that's all. When I look at the control panel, install hardware display I can see "Mass Storage Controller" with the yellow warning icon over it to say there is an error. The error text says "Drivers are not installed".

Any ideas?

OK - I'm not getting very far - can anyone shed any light on this?

According to the laptop manual the slot on my Toshiba laptop is a PC Card Type II - "for any industry standard cards ... including flash memory".

According to Toshiba support, the driver for any of these cards always comes WITH the card as they can be for many purposes.

I have installed the software that comes with the HPX - so I'm basically going round in circles now.

Any ideas??

Sorted! - Another check revealed Panasonic have issued a new version of the software that came with the camera so I downloaded that and that offers the PC Card as an option along with the list of all the Panasonic P2 camera.

Selecting that installed the PC Card drivers for my PC and the P2 Card when inserted in the slot now appears as a P2 structured drive on my lap top.
