GH3 Question on SLRMagic 25mm T0.95 MFT

Hi,
I wonder if anyone else who has the SLRMagic 25mm T0.95 MFT has experienced the problems I have.
I bought the lens on sale from B&H for 499 for Christmas and decided to open it early.
First problem:
Turning the focus ring from 0.7 to infinity was tight, jar lid wrap your hand around it tight, the rest
of the turn was thumb and middle finger.
This morning it seems ok, thumb and middle finger smooth with a touch more drag 0.7 to infinity.

Second problem:
I don't think the aperture is working. I took a few picts with my GH3 in manual mode, and with my
BMPCC going from 0.95 to 16 and not seeing any difference. Also with the lens off camera rotated
the aperture ring and didn't see any closing down of the lens.

Anyone else had a similar problem(s)?

The SLR lenses have some great optics, but construction can leave a little to be desired. However, it sounds like you have a broken lens. You should still be able to exchange it and I encourage you to do so. Because when it works, it is absolutely beautiful. You might also want to send an email to SLR Magic about your problems, although being out of Hong Kong you're better choice is to exchange it.
 
Yeah, neither of those problems should be happening with your lens. I have the SLR Magic 25mm and haven't experienced either issue. Contact B&H and make them swap out the lens for a different copy. That's definitely not normal.
 
Bought the lens on the same sale for 499$. Focus ring is a bit to tight.
Don't have any aperture problems.
Take the lens out of the camera and look through, you can see if the iris open and close.

I really like the results from this len espacially for interviews.

I got an RMA from B&H that included prepaid return shipping and received a replacement lens that works fine.
Very excited about this lens.
