Question about transcoding

Hey. I was wondering if there is any possible way to transcode the 7Ds video into the xdcam codec on a windows machine. I have seen a few tutorials detailing how to do this on the mac, but not on a windows machine this far. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
But why? It's already a heavily compressed codec and then you're putting it into another heavily compressed codec= bigger drop in quality. I suspect if you really wanted to you could do this in Vegas or Premiere though...

I love XDCAM but I'd never transcode to it.

The way to do this is to transcode to ProRes on the Mac or Cineform on the PC. I guess the reason for transcoding to XDCAM is if you don't already have Cineform, XDCAM is free.

Anyway, let us know what you find out.
