7D Question about loosing settings

Hi I have a question about settings. I shoot with a canon 7d and i am filming a web series, so I am filming individual scenes and shots. When I get my settings (ie f stop, shutter, iso) set in the camera and time goes by my camera will shut off to save battery. When I turn it back on my setting reset to something else. How do you handle this problem? I have registered presets for filming on the custom dial. Do you have to register a setting for every shot you shoot so you don't lose your settings for that shot?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mikeb

Yes. I have 24P setup on one preset, 30P, and 60P on two others I have a 180 degree shutter saved that is appropriate for the frame rate. If the WB or exposure is different from the preset I change it. Once I have the setting locked in, I save the preset with the new settings. Shutting off keeps the camera cool.

So you set the preset for every shot? If I am filming one angle get me shot setup set the preset and move to another angle do i set a preset again for the new angle?

Thanks,
