Question about copyright rule

Hi all,

Quick question for the submissions cause I know copyright isnt always black/white....

1) If there is a shot of a coke can in a scene for example....is that ok...or do I have to change it to either not see the coke logo or change the logo?

2) Lets say I use a mock up of a specific newspaper with a made up headline.....can I use the actual newspapers name or do I have to slightly alter it as if a parody?

These may be silly questions, but would hate to have my submission axed for a silly reason. :engel017:

Thanks in advance!

Generally, I thinks it's a good idea to obscure logos when it's reasonable to do so. So it's very simple to make a fake label or obscure the label on a can of soda. We won't disqualify anyone for displaying a logo because it's really not a big issue, but it wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side. The newspaper should have a fake masthead, so you don't in any way imply that the paper actually published something that it didn't.
