Actually Laird has a super, super, super long cable to work with DV J-Pack from Serious Magic so you can navigate with full GPS controls and full Vector tracking display on a Laptop, so you in fact only need one camera for jetting about!
 
I am not up to scratch, but I wanted to suggest, lcd & evf markings for 16x9 and will there be a squash mode to see the anamorphic lens image in the right ratio. Both interesting features :)

The camera is native 16:9, so no anamorphic lens is required. The 16:9 picture will be displayed on the 4:3 LCD in letterbox mode. The data displays will then be in the black bars so that they don't cover the picture. Good idea me thinks.
 
I was using JetPack mode with my anamorphic lens and for some reason I have fine control on the X axis but the y axis control is all 'fuzzy'. Z axis seems fine though. I also really wish I had the DVX100A jetpack mode because I can't crank the afterburner in 24p mode, dang.

I am glad however that I am not stuck with the HDV jetpack, you know the one. It goes 4 times as far on the same fuel (nevermind the fact that it is barely usable in jetpack mode and everyone laughs at me as I fly by strobing because they are really only seeing me twice every second).

Please make sure you guys put a 6pin Firewire connector on this camera, the 4 pin is way to flimsy.

AND if you have to use 4 pin, and shame on the engineers if they do, make it in such a way that the 4 pin connector can be cheaply and easily replaced.

OR make a custom 4 to 6 pin pig tail, that gets a stress relief connection to the camera.

I see myself using a firewire to Mac to do recording, and I don't want to be breaking the camera because Panasonic did not put in a durable connector for the firewire.

On that note, maybe you should put 2 firewire connections on it. That way we can jam sync and still record to a Mac or firestore.

Please don't fail on this one.
