QT 7.3 issues

Hi I was wondering what codecs I need to download so that I can view my HD footage on Quick Time 7.3. As of now it just turns into a blank white screen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
 
If by HD you mean DVCRPO HD, these codecs are installed with Final Cut Studio. There is no other way to get them.

What version of final cut do you recommend (for a Power Book G4 1.67Ghz with 2Gb of ram) What's the best workflow for that kind of computer?
