Q Button?

I've been confused about the Q button. Initially when I got my 7d when the mode was switched to "movie shooting," pressing the Q button brought up the menu with all of the rectangular lighting options i.e shutter speed, aperture, iso, exposure, flash, white balance etc (in other words the same menu that pressing Q on non-live mode would bring you to).

Now when I press the Q button in movie shotting mode, 3 icons appear on the left (an icon of a man, the still compression size, and the frame rate/size).

I have no idea how you customize the Q button or set it to different menus, but if anyone knows that would be great. I've been reading through the manual but haven't come across anything useful yet.

I'm aware what it stands for and have looked in the manual. But my question is: why does it bring up a different menu now than it did in the past (when the same modes are set), and how do I change what menu it brings up?

Not very well I'm afraid. It "references" functions rather than "explains" functions.
It's even more cryptic when it comes to the movie mode.

I'm still holding my breath for a Barry Green book.
