OTHER: PX270 Video from the Engineers Part 2

I wouldn't hold your breath on FCP7 support beyond what's already in there.

FWIW, I actually tried dumping some LongG clips into PPro CC last night and it had no idea what to do with it. All other Intra and DVCPro formats worked fine.

So I don't know what LongG format Adobe is claiming to support, but it's not the one in Panasonic's new flagship microP2 camera that's for sure.

"But it has 4:2:2 at 10 bit and 50MB on an SD card which you cannot do on the Sony. ;-)" Jan you are 100% correct thats why Sony are loosing the plot we are fed up having to "buy-in" to Sonys expensive media which is why Panasonic are becoming a major force to be reckoned with.

@ Jan: I agree and am therefore holding on to my hpx250, the 10 bit 4.2.2 does make a major difference in post.
@lonewolf: I agree with your ideas, a good lens is mandatory for higher resolution and these 1/3" cameras can hardly compete with the image quality of 2/3" models.

I was really hoping that the af100 was seeing some more development. I am holding on to my collection of MTF glass, dreaming of a large sensor with a 10 bit 4.2.2 codec.
Why did panasonic never continue this promising start? Now I am using the BMPC instead and miss the ND filters, the XLR inputs etc...

I thought the upcoming GH4 has 10bit 4:2:2. And can use your existing MFT glass. I could be wrong about that.

from the GH4 description: "Video recorded to the cards is 4:2:0 8-bit"

The 10-bit 4:2:2 is only out through HDMI.

I still must insist :-) When is somebody going to listen and put the viewfinder where the 2/3 cams have it? Even the Sony F3 has it in the wrong place.
4.2.2 @10bit is all good (and would have been better with 1/3 CCDs instead of CMOS) but the form factor of these cameras needs development.
The GH4 is out of question with its DSLR form factor. Where is the follow up to the AF100?
