Purchasing Final Cut Studio 2/Imac 5 memory upgrade

I hope this is the right forum for this but here goes. I have decided to make the jump from Fcut Express 4 to FCS2. Currently shooting with the tape side of the HVX200a because the Fcut Express 4 doesn't work with the P2 cards. I use a Imac 5 for editing that only has 1 gb of memory. According to FCS2 I need about 4 gb of memory. I have located what I need from mac sales and was told that I could install (very easily, only $44.95) two 2.0 gb cards and this would save me from purchasing a new PC. Keeping this in mind is my processor gonna be fast enough for all this. Currently it's speed is 2.16. I was told that I need at least 1.25 processing speed for FCS2. What are you guys using? Am I correct on all this info??? If I were to spend the money on a new PC system what do you recommend? I have priced turn keys at around 5 grand or so. Any helpful info would be great at this point. Thanks JB

Graphics Card is also critical. Does this iMac have it's own GFX Card, or is it integrated? Easiest way to tell is it a 17" or is it larger? If it is larger than 17", it has it's own dedicated card. Good Luck!
