Hey, what do you think about this! We shot this feature in the summer 2010 and had the premiere last week in an arthouse cinema in Leipzig/Germany. The audience was really impressed - nobody realized that it was shot with a 7D, the most people we asked thought it was film...

We used our own HD projector from benq for the projection and it was a pleasure to watch!

We are now working on the english translation, we will upload it to vimeo.

Thanks for watching

No wondering they asked if this was film, looks great, congrats. Its good to see this kind of footage even from time to time, theres a lot of bad DSLR stuff on the net cause almost anyone can afford DSLR ,i appreciate this kind of quality work.really good job, shows that you know what youre doing with the cam.I like how whites are toned down and contrast isnt blown up.

@bwwd: thank you for the comment. the dynamic range of the 7D is my biggest concern always, but especially indoors, there is no excuse to over or underexpose. We had only 2 330Watt sixbanks kinoflos and 2 650 arris - but with the 7D it`s enough the most time.
I`m also bored of bad shallow dof and high contrast footage - but for this I like vimeo. It`s like an Island for filmmakers, not so much bad footage around there yet (I hope also in the future).

Looks really great. I too have been discouraged my the influx of "bad" DSLR footage. Goes to show you--it's not the camera, it's the person behind it.

STUNNING Imgery. I can't wait to see it after it's finished being translated. Top notch work!!!!!

Not to knock the gh2, But im yet to see anything from it that looks better than this. This looks very filmic.

Here is another one - a little bit more "DOGMA" Style - but it has some good very cinematic moments! We`ll post the english translation later...

Please comment!

Hmm this looks mostly like regular DSLR stuff,i think this woman saves this one, shes good actress ,looks very natural compared to other people.I liked shot at 1:34 ,looks like shot on film.
Would like to see change of focal lenght on closeups cause shooting talking heads on wides looks odd especially if they talk about important stuff, using 135mm or 200mm for talking heads looks nice but people rarely do that ,in movies it happens a lot a lot of times.

What immediately separates these two for me has nothing to do with camera, shooting style, etc. It's what the camera is being pointed at.

The first one clearly takes advantage of locations with character: wallpaper, etc.

The second one's shooting at white walls and tight spaces. Verite style.

They both have the same exactly image quality, aesthetic.

Clear example of how much more important location choice is over camera.

Ich würde lieber Deutsch Untertitel haben...

Aber der Film sieht gut aus.
