Yes it's true, for a limited time at participating dealers you can get a FS5 camera as part of a promo bundle for only $1005.

All you have to do is buy the F55 for $29,900 and the FS5 is included.

Contact your local dealer. I've seen it on Abelcine's site, and a few others.

Thought I'd pass this along

Cheers

Straight from Sony-- through March 31 buy F55 + FS5 bundle for $29,995.

So, it is effectively $1005 for the FS5 but not exactly phrased that way.

It's like the bit where a hotel room is $100 for single occupancy or $105 for two-person, so you offer a stranger $5 to share his room.

There was a retail chain in the Midwest (that recently went out of business) that was famous for "giving away" all sorts of stuff with other "stuff". Their most famous giveaway was a 10-speed bike with any purchase over a certain amount and they did not even carry bikes but found a major discount for a volume buy. "Giving away" sofas, VCR's - when those were a new fad in the the 80's - boom boxes, et cetera, et cetera. Around the holidays, they dealt with the customers in a deli manner - you had to take a number. I'd say they had a nice thirty year run but couldn't handle the Best Buy and the Internet era.
