Project settings for capturing/editing XL2 16x9 ?

hey,
even though i didn't get any response on my previous threat, i give it another try
What is the correct way of editing 16x9 25p footage recorded with the XL2 in FCP ?
And what is the best setting for exporting the edited project to AE ?
If i use a TGA sequence, how do i save the anamorph AR?
16x9 / widescreen / anamorphotic issue is new and very confusing for me :

If people here own a XL2 here, don't they edit their stuff 8)

I haven't used FCP so I can't help you there. Hopefully an FCP guru will write in and address your question. If not, try Noah Kadner over on 2-pop or creativecow, he's done extensive work with the DVX and FCP, and the settings should be the same for the XL2.

Are you saying that the XL2 stores its 16x9 picture the same way as the DVX stores its squeeze mode picture?

The Xl2 and DVX "store" there 16x9 the exact same way. As a DV compliant 720x480 NTSC frame. The only difference is how they are aquired.

The project setting should be 16x9 or 720x480 1.2 Pixel aspect ratio for either camera if 16x9 was used. It will be different if you are in PAL land.

For PAL you want a: 720x576 pixels with a 1.42 pixel aspect ratio project setting if editing 16:9 XL2 footage.
