How does a Proc Amp fare against Color Correction software? The Proc Amp in FCP yeilds nice results. Any thoughts? Thanks.

A procamp is designed to corret errors in the signal.
They are very rudementary controls to make sure that an image is displayed properly - the right color and bright enough type stuff. They arn't designed for proper color correction.
That beeing said, I often use them for quick simple corrections to clips.

I found ProcAmp useful recently for a high-contrast B&W look. I didn't like the look I was getting from Brightness/Contrast filters or even through Curves. ProcAmp has a very unique look that was what I was looking for.
