Probably mixed stock. Original run vs. later runs. We'll see....magji2000 said:Question here for me is, why are some people having this and other's aren't? Some people say their cams are fine.
More than you could ever read is over on DVInfo.net. Basically under certain circumstances the JVC delivers a picture that is split right down the center, the left half looks slightly different than the right half. It is a source of much discussion and ongoing research to figure out when it happens, why it happens, which firmware versions it happens on, how to minimize it, whether it'll be fixed, etc.x2mag68 said:whats this split screen issue? never seen a Hd100 s i have no idea

Look at all the recalls autos have, and yet we still continue to buy their product. hmmmm.
I think its stupid to get mad and say "well, all will be better when panasonic or cannon comes out with their new product". Personally as a professional, I haven't seen anything from canon thats professional or worth a s*** And everybody thinks sony is the bomb but I'll never buy another sony cause their pixels go bad after 2 years...I'm talking 12-20k cameras! I worked with 4 of them from 1999-2001 and they ALL developed bad pixels after 2 years. I called Sony and they told me "yeah that's typical" hmmmm. Think not. All I'm saying is that all these guys have quirks and defects with their products. JVC is right when they say that. I have seen it more than once myself. Unless of course you are buying Ikegami..they are PERFECT! lol. (and pricy)
I'm right there with you. I bought a Sony back in 2000 that spent 4 months at Sony direct in Chicago. I waited and waited and waited for them to fix the F43 error code. They finally did. 6 months later the F43 error returned and since I purchased an extended warranty the camera was replaced with a newer run which never had an F43 to this day.magji2000 said:Yeah once we bought one of the first DVCPRO cameras that came out, right out of the box the dam thing wouldn't recorded. Just kept giving a hardware error. It took Panasonic almost 6 months! to fix the dam thing!!!! Also I've seen dead pixels on sony's too.
