Problems with slow motion

I'm having trouble with my slow motion footage in fcp.

I shot footage in 24fps and 60fps, but when I drop the 60fps footage into my 24fps timeline it plays back at normal speed.

Did I miss something?

Is there something I have to do to the 60 fps footage before dropping it into my timeline?

Are you referring to recording 24p over 60 versus 24pNative?

P (Progressive) movies are recorded with duplicate frames so they have the look of 24 but actually contain the full 60 frames required to meet 720p spec.

PN (Progressive-Native) movies are recorded at 24 frames, period. Not compatible with firewire out to a DTE devicen NLE, or OnLocation, ScopeBox, etc, but saves a ton of space when recording and does not require pulldown removal.

You can record about 42 minutes of 720/24pN to a 16 GB p2 card, but only 17 minutes of 24p.

60fps over 720p60 will give you ability to slow down in post but also capture sound. 60fps over 720p24pn will NOT capture audio but renders an instantly usable slow-mo.
