Problems with Firestore 3.0

has anyone found a solution to the "No Space Left" bug or do I have to send my FS 100 back to Focus?

could anyone please publish the correct working settings with the 3.0 version?
I think it may just be problems with correct sycho between the camera and the FS100.

I got ahold of Focus Support and they figured out the problem. Here is the solution they sent for the "No Space Left" error message:

"If the camera is set to a UB MODE other than FRM RATE, and record on the FS-100 goes to “no space left”. I saw this when UB MODE was set to USER. I did not see this when the camera’s UB MODE was set to TCG; in this case, I would expect the files would be unusable in the NLE.

The short answer is to set the AG-HVX200 UB MODE to FRM RATE and the problem will go away."

Yes, you've always had to have the HVX UB Mode set to FRM RATE in order for the FS-100 to record properly. The FS-100 uses the data in that field to work with the MXF format. I never thought about it causing this specific problem. At least now we know.

pheww... I was getting alittle worried about the Firestore. Now I can shoot 720/24pN. Thanks, everyone for your help!

tried everything else

allright fellow filmmakers,

This is my first time in this forum so I hope that I am posting in the right area.... Anyway here is my issue.

I have FCP 5.1.4 so I am fully upgraded there, and I shot with an HVX200 and a FS100 two weeks ago. Now since I rented the FS100 I copied the entire contents to my external drive on my MAC so as to give back the FS100. all of this was done after I organized my p2.

when I try to import the footage into FCP I can see the footage in the preview window just fine. The system imported about half of the clips into my project but had unkown errors on the other half. Frustrated I scoured the internet looking for answers until I hit a bit of a break with one of the users here. In his thread he mentioned deleting the <Relation> data from the corresponding XML files.

Now this worked for some of the footage but there is still a pretty big chunk of video that I can't access and bring into the project.

Another interesting thing that I noticed is that with the troublesome clips there are many clips within one. What I mean is that seperate takes where the firestore stopped and then started again for the new take are backed up on one another in the problem clips.

Also the clip duration time is the same on most of the clips as well as the timecode is the same for all of the clips. is this normal?

Apple is working on some P2 bugs in FCP. Use P2 Log, it'll get the footage FCP can't.

Yes, there is a 2GB file limit on the FAT32 implimitation in the FS-100. Unless FCP spans the clips successfully, yes, you'll get a bunch of clips something like 2 minutes and 18 seconds each.
