Problems with Canon 17-102 on GH2

I've got a Canon tv 17-102 c mount lens that I can't seem to get working on the GH2. Yes, I've enabled 'shoot without lens' but whenever I attach it I get an error on the camera telling me the lens isn't attached properly! I can't seem to work out why!

It works find on my GH1 (but vignettes) so as far as I can tell the c mount adaptor is ok.

Has anyone else had similar problems with a GH2?

If anyone has any ideas please fire them over!

Thanks
Bradley

Peculiar. Do other adapted lenses work? I don't think that would have anything to do with the lens itself.

Make sure you're on one of the manual modes like M or the Manual movie mode. The camera is probably trying to check for aperture or something if it is in P or Shutter priority modes. Also, it's possible that the lens may need power to open the aperture if it is a TV lens, however that shouldn't show up on the camera itself. Good Luck

It is likely because of the adapter itself.
The black screen 'lens is not mounted properly' error is caused by the locking pin recess depth. It's a problem when using adapters that have a shallow mount locking pin recess.

The pin recess is shallow because there is less material to remove on a slim adapter, without drilling through the adapter entirely.
