sometimes i will be recording and just out of the blue the video will stop and i will get an error message about the lens and the connectivity or something along those lines, anyone else have this problem? is there a fix for this or could i have a bad lens?

i always get it when i shoot stills. as Bawes said..i take off the lens and put it back on...and i'm good. its VERY annoying though. havent gotten it shooting video though.

I've had it happen several times. It's a very common problem with the Tamron. There's nothing wrong with your particular lens, it's just the way the Tamron's are. Kind of sucks, but besides that issue, it takes nice images.

I don't even take the lens off. Just push the unlock button, turn the lens a little bit (not going all the way) and then click it back in and it works fine.

Happened to me once last winter when I was shooting stills next to a lake ... the wind was blowing and it was really cold. I was thinking maybe that the cold temperature somehow affected the contact points between the lens and the camera ... and sure enough, as soon as I got back inside my car, the error message stopped displaying on the viewfinder after the camera and lens warmed up a bit again (relatively speaking, of course).

I´ve gotten this allot on stills too, but not video. Sent it in but the lab found nothing... I turn the cam off/on and its good to go.

man that sucked, it happened at least 5 times, while i was shooting a video for a multi platinum artist, also the first video im doing for them

When I called Tamron on this issue, I was told to send the lens in to address the contacts. They have it now.

Yup, I had the same connectivity problems..

Send it back to Tamron and they will fix it if under warranty still for Free.

it took about 1 week for my lens to come back

I sent mine, and they said they couldn't reproduce the issue. However, I only had it happen twice in 50 hours of recording, I guess it's not really a problem... yet. I do like the lens.
