Problem with locked video files on P2 Cards.

I'm fairly new to the wold of hvx 200, I've been using the DVX for years. I cant seem to get some locked files off of my P2 card even when formatting the card. Can anyone offer some advice?

Do you have the write protect switch on by chance?

How are you attempting to offload the cards?

Is it possible that you are working with a MAC?

With the new firmwareupdate of the HVX(when the 16GB-cards arrived) its not possible to simply delete the files when you work on a MAC.(search the forum, there are reports in a thread..!)

In any case you should be able to format the cards in the Camcorder...if not, the write protection is switched on(red)!

With the new p2 Mac formatter from Panasonic, you should be able to format a mounted p2 card.

I had the same problem on my WinXP via P2Genie and also Windows Explorer.

I ended up upgrading the P2 firmware itself and also use the current P2 drivers and used the P2 card format software from Panasonic.

Don't know what caused it but the upgrades took care of it.

Make sure that your camera is in the same record format as your playback content. For example if you're in 1080i/30p record mode you cannot playback 720/24p.
